The magician who was constantly called incompetent is actually the strongest in the world, but was imprisoned and didn't realize it Volume 2 Prologue

Arcadia

 Prologue

The sky unleashed a torrential downpour.

Even in the pitch-black night, the deluge dominated the entire field of vision, pierced intermittently by dazzling flashes of lightning.

Amid this raging storm, the sound of fierce, unyielding footsteps running through the chaos can be heard.

Her leg strength was nothing short of astonishing.

With a single stride, she covered a distance that defied ordinary human limits.

“Hah, hah, hah.”

The girl—Shion—pressed on, her breaths ragged yet unrelenting.

Though she occasionally glanced over her
 shoulder, her feet never faltered.

Yet the gaze fixed upon her from behind never wavered, an overwhelming presence clinging to her like a shadow.

“Huh—?”

Shion, who had been fleeing without pause, came to an involuntary halt.

The oppressive aura that had pursued her so relentlessly had vanished without warning.

“Did I lose them…?”

She exhaled deeply, tilting her head to gaze upward.

The ashen sky offered no glimpse of the moon, raindrops obscuring her sight.

The ceaseless roar of the rain echoed like the sky itself bellowing, cascading onto the earth below.

“No, I can’t let my guard down yet—ah!?”

The girl tried to break into a run once more, but her attempt was cut short.

“Hey… haven’t you run enough already?”

Illuminated by the sole source of light—a streak of lightning—a man stood before her.

The young man casually brushed back his rain-soaked hair, his voice dripping with irritation.

“I’m tired of chasing you. So, I will kill you now.”

“Tch!”

Shion clicked her tongue and made to flee, but the youth moved faster, seizing her slender neck with a single hand.

“Didn’t I just say I’m done chasing? Give it up. I don’t have the time to keep playing with you.”

With an impatient grunt, the youth lifted her off the ground with terrifying strength.

“Gah, ugh!?”

He stared at the writhing girl with an utterly blank expression.

Like a machine—like a hunter dispatching prey with cold indifference—his eyes betrayed no hint of emotion.

“Let… let me go!?”

She thrashed desperately, struggling with all her might, but his grip didn’t loosen in the slightest.

On the contrary, the pressure only grew, threatening to snap her neck.

“Are you an idiot? Who’d let go just because you asked?”

“Damn it—argh!?”

Pain contorted Shion’s lips, tears spilling from the corners of her eyes. Mingled with the rain, they went unnoticed by the youth.

No—even if the sun had shone brightly and revealed her tears, it wouldn’t have stirred him in the least.

“No matter how much you resist, no matter how much you beg, your death is inevitable.”

All revered his existence.

All feared his existence.

In the magical city, there were twelve supreme Demon lords who stood at the pinnacle of the world.

“Then die here.”

He was one of those at the very top.

“—Hey, you filthy demon.”

—Demon King Glynn Zambar.
