 Epilogue

Two days after Ren returned to Clausel, Lishia made her way to his room in the old mansion that morning.

"Starting tomorrow, I’ll heal your injuries with my holy magic!"

That was the declaration Lishia made the moment Ren woke up on her lap.

For the time being, their mornings would be dedicated to this healing routine.

As usual, Lishia took Ren’s hand and channeled her holy magic for about ten minutes.

Since she was already there, she suggested they have breakfast together at the main house.

"In that case, I’ll take you up on your offer."

"Wait. You need to put on your coat properly."

The distance wasn’t far, but to get to the main house, they had to cross the connecting corridor.

Even if it was only for a brief moment, stepping outside meant exposing oneself to the winter air.

Lishia was concerned that Ren, who still wasn’t fully recovered, might catch a chill.

Without waiting for his response, she walked over to the coat rack in the corner of the room and grabbed his coat.

"Here, put this on."

"I’m fine! I can put it on myself!"

"Just let me do it."

Having never helped someone put on a coat before, Lishia fumbled slightly with the process.

Still, once she got it on him, Ren awkwardly thanked her.

"Huh?"

Ren’s attention shifted to the pocket of his coat.

He felt something hard inside.

At first, he thought he had forgotten to take out something from his recent trip.

However, what he pulled out wasn’t a survival tool or anything of the sort.

It was a gray stone, something that looked completely ordinary.

"Where did you pick this up?"

"I don’t know. But I don’t remember picking up any stones like this…"

"I don’t think it’s just a regular rock. Look, there’s a red glow flickering in the corner."

"…You’re right."

The discovery only deepened Ren’s confusion.

As he examined the stone in his hand, Lishia leaned in closer.

"Let me see it too… Should we take a look in better lighting?"

"That might be a good idea."

Momentarily forgetting about breakfast, the two of them moved toward the window.

When Ren held the stone up to the morning sunlight, the red glow became more pronounced.

Even so, its true nature remained a mystery.

Deciding not to dwell on it for now, they turned their attention back to breakfast.

──However, the moment Ren placed the stone on the desk, something unexpected happened.

The Azure Jewel of Serakia, which had been sitting in the corner of the desk, suddenly came to life.

Azure mist and crackling lightning surged more violently than ever before.

At the same time, waves of deep crimson light began pouring out from the so-called "stone."

The faint cracks that had been present grew larger, accompanied by sharp cracking sounds.

"R-Ren!?"

"I don’t know what’s happening! But stay close to me!"

Startled, Ren quickly pulled Lishia close and backed away from the Azure Jewel of Serakia.

Inside the room, a violent azure wind spiraled like a raging storm.

The overwhelming chill spread across the floor, while streaks of lightning flickered at Ren’s feet.

Dense magical energy filled the air, distorting their vision with its sheer intensity.

A sharp crack echoed once more—the sound of the fractures in the Azure Jewel of Serakia widening.

Before long, all the raging forces that had filled the room were drawn toward the jewel, as if being sucked inside.

And then—

With a loud shatter, like breaking glass, the jewel split apart.

(That stone from earlier—!?)

Ren’s suspicion was confirmed.

Right before his eyes, the Azure Jewel of Serakia had split cleanly into two.

And then—

"Kyuu!"

A creature covered in soft, fluffy fur let out a cry.

It was an adorable little monster.

The moment Ren saw it, his mind raced through his knowledge of the game.

(If an immense amount of magic power and the horn of a great dragon are offered, it might hatch. Once born, it would swear absolute loyalty to its master...)

He also recalled details from the setting materials of The Legend of the Seven Heroes.

(Before the Seven Heroes defeated the Demon King, there was a monster that turned its fangs against him. Wielding absolute power over ice and darkness, it proved to be a formidable foe to the Demon King—)

That meant the stone from earlier was actually the horn of a great dragon.

When Ren shattered Asval’s horn, a fragment must have slipped into his coat pocket.

With that fragment and the magic power the jewel had been absorbing from Ren, the legendary monster had finally hatched.

(I can’t keep up with any of this...)

Ren could at least grasp that the "great dragon" in question referred to Asval.

But beyond that, he was utterly lost.

This was a development he had never anticipated, and his mind was struggling to process it all.

While Ren was caught in his confusion, Lishia fearlessly approached the newborn monster.

She picked it up in her arms and smiled.

"It’s adorable."

The sight of the elegant and beautiful Lishia cradling the tiny creature was something out of a painting.

"For now, we should take it with us."

"Take it where?"

Lishia giggled.

"Isn’t it obvious?"

Still holding the newborn creature, she took Ren by the hand and headed for the door.

The little monster, surprisingly calm, simply looked up at them in turn.

"Whatever we do next, we need to report this to Father first."

Hearing her perfectly reasonable statement, Ren could only nod.

"…Yeah, you’re right."
